The origins of the company go back to 1990, when Hubert Wölbitsch founded OPAS in Munich.
Five years later, the company headquarters were relocated to Bamberg, where the company's focus was on the development of the eponymous software for the management of symphony orchestras. In the years that followed, OPAS was able to continuously expand its customer base and soon became one of the leading providers of orchestra management software in Europe and worldwide.
In 2020, OPAS joined Ookam Software, a long-term group of companies specialising in software companies. The founder Hubert Wölbitsch withdrew from the operational business and handed over to Philipp Wunderlich, who as a long-time employee was very familiar with the company and the software.
